Although bursitis does not feel great, treatment of it is pretty easy. In fact, most of the time, bursitis treatment is nothing more than just resting that area of the body. A lot of times, applying ice to that area will help as well. This will bring down the swelling. If it’s really bad, then the doctor may give you a type of drug that will help bring down the swelling a lot. With the right type of home care, this is a condition that goes away within just a few weeks. A lot of times, the doctor will recommend some physical therapy to strengthen the muscles in that area. If the doctor wants to give you instant relief, then he will inject you with corticosteroid. Very rarely does any kind of surgical removal have to be done, but it does happen from time to time.
