Home Remedies For Cracked Heels










An application of hydrogenated or shortening vegetable oil is good. This is to be applied after washing the feet make it clean and dry. You should apply the thick coat of this oil. It is an effective natural cure for cracked heels and is also one of the effective home remedies for cracked heels.

Never go out with bare feet. Use socks or shoes or any type of footwear.

Ever let your feet extra dry. Keep on applying something like cream, oil etc.

You can also apply pulp of ripe banana on the cracked area of the heel. This pulp is kept for about 10 minutes and then it is cleaned. This is one of the good home remedies for cracked heels.

Soak the affected feet in water containing lemon juice. This therapy is to be done once in a week till you find the benefit.

The daily therapy to be followed is putting the feet in warm soapy water for about fifteen minutes at the end of the day when you are sure that you need not to go outside any more.

Another therapy is mixing a tsp of Vaseline and juice of one lemon. This mixture is to be rubbed on the cracked and other area where there is dryness. The affected area should absorb this mixture. It is also one of the good home remedies for cracked heels.

Regular application of mixture of glycerine and rosewater is well known home remedy for cracked heels.

Applying the melt paraffin wax and mixing it well with little mustard oil is time tasted and one of the proven home remedies for cracked heels. This is to be applied throughout night and rinse off in the morning. The whole therapy is to be continued for at least 10-15 days.

One should include the diet rich in calcium, minerals, zinc and vitamins. Omega 3 fatty acids are also considered to be best for cracked heels.

Include vegetable oils, green vegetables, cereals, wheat germ, whole-grain products.

Take some foods like goat’s milk, dairy products, meat, chicken, oysters, brown rice, cold water fish etc. which are rich in calcium, zinc, iron etc.

Use foot scrub after soaking your feet into lukewarm water. This will remove dead skin and unwanted material from the cracked heels. This is one of the effective home remedies for cracked heels.

You can also apply coconut oil which has shown good results in cracked heels. This is also one of the effective home remedies for cracked heels.

Some experts suggest application of petroleum jelly after drying the area and put on the socks later. This is to be done just before going to the bed. This is to be tried at least for a week.
