Home Remedies for Poison Ivy

Poison ivy is when a person experiences an allergic reaction, which causes a rash. Some of the symptoms that may come with the rash include moderate to severe itching, red inflammation, blisters and bumps. It is also possible for blisters to become oozy, depending on the specific case of poison ivy. While it may be rare, it is possible for poison ivy to be deadly.

Causes of Poison Ivy

Ultimately, a person will have an allergic reaction to poison ivy if they come in contact with a vine that is also called poison ivy. Once that person becomes infected, he or she may pass poison ivy onto others that they may come in contact with. Although some people may touch the rash caused by poison ivy, they may not have a reaction to it. It is also possible for pets to carry poison ivy and, ultimately, spread it to their owners.
