Sore throat refers to the inflammation of the pharynx or back of the throat It occurs frequently when a person has a cold or

the nasal passages.
The main causes of a sore throat are common cold and influenza. Other causes include sinusitis, measles, diphtheria, and

A decoction made from tea leaves is very beneficial in the treatment of a sore throat. This decoction, mixed with a pinch of
salt, should be used as a gargle. It can be used two or three times daily for obtaining relief. It is not necessary to use fresh
leaves for this purpose. Boiling water can be poured over used tea leaves in the tea jug and this decoction used as a gargle.
Sore Throat Remedies with Tamarind:
Tamarind is also beneficial in the treatment of this condition. Tamarind water should be used as a gargle. A powder of the dry
leaves and an infusion of the bark can also be used for preparation of a gargle for treating sore throat.
Sore Throat Home Remedies with Borage Tea:
Make a tea using 1/2cup of borage leaves to 2 cups of boiling water. Steep for 30 minutes. Strain and refrigerate. Use as a
gargle when needed for sore throats.

Anise mint tea is very good for sore throats. Use 1 teaspoon dried anise mint for each cup of boiling water. Let steep 10
minutes. Strain and sweeten. Drink as warm as possible. Repeat as often as desired.

Cinnamon is regarded as an effective remedy for a sore throat resulting from a cold. One teaspoon of coarser/ powdered

the treatment of this condition. Two or three drops of cinnamon oil, mixed with a teaspoon of honey, also give immense relief.

Make a paste using 1 tablespoon slippery elm powder, and just enough water to make a paste. Dissolve 1/2 cup of honey in 2
cups of boiling water. Add honey water slowly to slippery elm paste. Take 1 tablespoon as needed.

Mix 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper with 1 cup boiling water. Drink 3 times daily to stop or ward off colds and sore throats. This
