What is Freckles?

Freckles are the very small flat, round and brownish colored spot on the face. There are two types of freckles ephelides and lentigines. Ephelids occur during summer and fade away in winter, but lentigines do not fade in winter. The color of lentigines is darker than ephelides. Sometimes the freckles are look big in size by overlapping each other. Some person’s face the freckles stay for long time where as in some faces it appears for sometimes. Freckles are generally found in young age.

Home Remedies for Freckles

Horseradish juice is good for freckles. Horseradish or horseradish vinegar or oatmeal dabbed on the affected area can be helpful to reduce the symptoms of freckles. This is one of the good home remedies for freckles.

You can wash your face with sour milk. It is proven that lactic acid promotes gentle peeling of the skin and hence, reducing the irritation or dryness.

What are freckles? These are small flat tanned spots that can appear on the skin. Most of the time, they get no bigger than the head of a nail. These spots can multiple over time, and they can develop randomly on the skin for no real reason. Although, there are some things that can cause freckles to appear more often. For example, too much exposure to the sun can cause a lot of freckles. They seem to appear on people who have fair complexions more often and on places that have a lot of sun exposure like the cheeks. Not only can they appear anywhere, but they can appear on people of all ages. In fact, kids as young as one can get freckles on them. Although freckles are normally thought of as brown, they can be different colors. For example, some can be red and yellow.

Freckles may be described as flat, round, dark colored spots that range in size from about 2mm to 4mm. Freckles could be the result of pigment precipitation in one particular place, as generally the skin surrounding the spot is lighter in color. Freckles have a hereditary aspect to it and you are likely to inherit it if runs in your family. Freckles are usually of no medical consequence and do not cause any problems. Freckles are sensitive to the UV rays of sunlight and hence appear more prominent during or after exposure to sunlight. Though freckles could be present all over the body, mostly they are found in areas exposed to sun.
