<h3>Flatulence Causes and Symptoms</h3>
<p>Patients with flatulence symptoms may complain of noisy releasing gas,  abdominal pain and swelling or of excessive flatus. Also, there is considerable  overlap in the patients who complain of flatulence and swelling and those with  irritable bowel syndrome.</p>
<p>Noisy releasing gas is caused by the eructation of swallowed air. If the  normal volume of swallowed air cannot be passed into the proximal bowel because  of a motility disorder or gastric outlet obstruction, belching may develop.  Thus, patients with gastric carcinoma, peptic ulcer disease, or uremia may  complain of noisy releasing gas.</p>
<p>Abdominal pain and swelling are often attributed to an excess of flatulence.  In some cases, stoppage to sufficiently digest a constituent of food with  resulting bacterial humiliation and flatulence creation is responsible for the  abdominal pain and swelling.</p>
<p>Excessive flatulence may result from a disorder of  intestinal motility but usually is a consequence of increased amounts of gas  produced by the action of bacteria on dietary substrates. <p>Chew on some fresh ginger slices that are soaked in lime juice after meals.</p>
<p>A drop of dill oil in a tsp of honey taken immediately after a meal should be of great help.</p>
<p>Dry grind 1 tsp of pepper, 1 tsp of dry ginger and 1 tsp of green cardamom seeds. Add 1/2 tsp of this mixture to water and drink after 1 hour after meal.</p>
<p>Chewing peppermint after a meal does a lot more than just freshening your breath. Peppermint contains menthol that soothes the digestive muscles. It helps in treating flatulence, bloating and abdominal pain that accompanies gas.
